What do you think is the best place to visit for a traveler in Japan?

There are many:

Osaka/ Tokyo/ Okinawa/ Hokkaido etc

Is Osaka more of the country side or is that Kyoto?

Those are both enormous places. If you want a piece of tourist friendly country side try Nikko also really great unesco heritage site hiking trails that go for miles and miles.

Are you a quiet mountain/regional person, skier, or city person…or all of the above?

I made the mistake this time by spending too much time in the city which did not suit me…love Tokyo or Osaka for 2-3 nights but I get exhausted for any longer.

The countryside is insanely beautiful. If you are into skiing, it has some of the best in the world.

I am currently in Takayama which has a stunning ‘old town’ and plenty of the famous Hida beef. Also check out the Nakasendo trail for the amazing historical route.

I guess maybe a little of both. Too much city time would probably drain me.

Pick your season carefully. Summer is insanely hot and humid and they don’t have outdoor pools at the hotels. The beaches only open for a few weeks a year. It drives me mad not being able to swim anywhere.

Maybe I’ll go in the spring

Definitely. Catch the cherry blossoms 🌸

Definitely going in the spring now.

Can't wait to visit Japan again!

Where have you been to?

I visited Tokyo, Kanazawa, Osaka/Nara Kyoto, Tatyama, and Hakone!

That’s a lot! 🫨

I even did jiujitsu in Kyoto! It was special! I would love to go back! Next trip is Portugal though!

Are you near any of those places?

I’m currently in Tokyo, for a week
