At the end of the day, after supper, I watch 15 minutes of Little Bear with my toddlers using my phone on night mode. 🐻

This gives mom time to clean up the kitchen and prepare the kids room for their bath and bedtime.

We wrestle on the master bed and watch a few minutes, then play with pillows, etc. I use a big moveable device arm so that we can stretch and watch in all sorts of positions. 🀼

Sometimes we sneak out for a sunset walk to the mailbox to pick up packages. πŸ“

I don't think shows are inherently bad, just scope them appropriately and always watch together. πŸ“Ί

Have you all watched any Tuttle Twins?

We will when they're a little older.

Franklin the Turtle and Puffin Rock are other sweet and wholesome shows. And can't go wrong with Mr. Rogers.

Little Bear! I used to love Little Bear back in the day πŸ₯Ή

Wholesome.

One of my childhood favorites as well.

I noticed a dramatic shift in behaviour after my son was exposed to a hours of TV. He was sick at the time, lethargic & we didn't know better.

I'm confident that it wasn't the content that caused the shift in behaviour.

That was when we unplugged the TV (14 years ago).

Just something to be mindful of.

Dopamine wasting, perhaps.

Do you remember what the content was?

It was probably close to 13 years ago, I can't recall exact what content. Based on where I was in my life, I'd say it was free to air TV. We selected the channel/content but didn't have a smart TV yet (it may have been a few DVDs).

I remember thinking at the time it was benign content, but also wasn't so aware of what to look for. The worst content was probably the Teletubbies.

I put it down to amount of time in front of a screen & exposure to rapidly changing images.

The angry, violent behaviour disappeared soon after removing the TV.

I still wrestle with my 8 & 5. I even β€œlet them win”
