I saw a contemporary #art documentary on TV and I have to say that there is a lot of really bad expensive art.

Probably mine is too, but at least it's not expensive.

Naw, you're art is actually pretty damn good. You're right though it can get expensive. That's the thing though, art is the most subjective form of human creation. What I don't see value in someone else will throw $1M at.

I have the impression that it is a scam by certain gallery owners, pumping a certain kind of art just to make money.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it 🙏

Now that I can totally get. Just look at the not craze of 2020-2021. Beetles first piece sold for $69M for a collage of pictures...

This?

This one sold for 69M

Ps- autocorrect really got me on my first reply to you.

NFT* and Beeple* (not beetle) lol

I don't knock Beeple as an artist. But like you said, I just feel the valuation can sometimes be carried by hysteria.

Bless Beeple for having had that opportunity. It changed his life forever.

It's subjective🤷🏽

One man's "ew get that out of my house!" Is another man's "ill give you 30k for this, I want it in my private museum."

I know, it's true. I was referring to what I saw and subjectively I cannot define certain works as art.

All you need to do to a pointless concept is to make it extremely large and it becomes “Contemporary Art”.

You are right 🤭

You’re totally right about bad expensive art. But it’s hard to define what is ‘bad’. I’ve tried and I can’t do it, but I know bad when I see it, and a lot of expensive art is really bad. Your art is not like that so it is the opposite: good!

Your art is also good, of course it is very different from mine but I see a study in it, a passion and above all it is very original.

Instead I saw certain things in that documentary that to call it art is really difficult.

I agree that art is subjective, but objectively there are unwatchable works that are damn expensive.

Thank you 🙏

What documentary was it btw?

Art in general, like any other thing in this world got co opted by the propaganda lords. There’s good art still being made, the difference is popularity and how much money/interest is behind it.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is.

Yeah but hey you’re making good work 🤌🏼 and that’s what matters, keep it up!!
