NEW EPISODE OF NOSTROVIA IS OUT NOW!

This week we have a discussion with #[0], who played a significant role in the creation of Twitter and some even say was Jack's boss.

He has decades of experience with social media companies and protocols, and a very broad perspective from his global experience in technology and business. Rabble brings this experience to Nostr

2.5 hours! 👀

We talked for longer than that, but thankfully some of it was cut out. Apologies for speaking for so long, if I’d had more time I’d have said less.

I hope you liked the cut. I didn't have enough time for the fine toothed comb approach that I usually take so it could have been better.

Great guest.

Great episode! And 💯% agree with #[1] , nostr really needs to capture and engage non-bitcoiners.

I think even bitcoiners should refrain themselves from constantly discussing bitcoin/nostr on nostr, myself included. It can get quite monothematic and stale.

And yes, ancap political perspectives also count as bitcoin talk.

I'm looking forward to discuss everything else: books, movies, sports, philosophy, music, non-crypto tech, science, etc.

Agreed. Decentralized chat doesnt need to be exclusive to bitcoin. Mainstream everyday chat can move in that direction too.

But pls 🙏 no bots and no algorithms.

It's an open protocol anyone can join. But by design we are the first ones who feel attracted as it perfectly aligns with our values of permissionless access etc.

It's value absolutely dies without network effects. Good ideas don't always succeed.

Nost works already for me, I'll definitely not going back to Twitter.

You're missing the point, this is not about you.

Just change your time preference. It's like 2009/2010 now in Bitcoin time for Nostr. Network effects take time and for now having a small enthusiastic user base is not bad imo, as the ecosystem needs to improve anyway, before normal users can join.
