Delete is an important feature that empowers those who may be the most vulnerable #nostrica

living in a country where a person could get in jail for a like or repost on the post the regime doesn’t like, i feel ya!
and it comes from a person, who in the middle school got away from being beaten by homophobic kids because was quick enough to delete a post with my girlfriend 🫣
I respect @jack’s desire for authenticity but we need delete for doxxing, CSAM, and revenge porn. It’s the ugly reality of the human world we live in. I know we can’t make perfect delete on Nostr, or any other social network or internet project for that matter, but we can do pretty good and we need to.
Agreed. Not to mention some people just love things to be tidy, neat and perfect. Nostr should be a big tent that accomodates the needs and desires of everyone. If you don’t want to use delete or edit - don’t use it!
Plus, we want to make sure people can make it clear what they mean when they say they “helped their their uncle #[4] off a horse”. 😕🤭
Or another way to look at it is it’s a bit like the discussion of same sex marriage. If you’re opposed to same sex marriage - don’t marry someone of the same sex. Problem solved. Doesn’t mean others shouldn’t be able to do it.
it brings me back to my yesterday reply on the discussion of deleting on nostr

this is how i envision that: deletion of posts/likes would start then rich ppl would get agreement with relayers for deleting their posts for money if they don’t own the relays – as well as literally deleting posts on their own relays. such a precedent could affect other relays as well (at least i hope so)
