We often talk about what can be built on or with Nostr, but we don't talk about what can't or shouldn't? When it comes to the apps that I use on the daily, I don't think there's anything that Nostr couldn't be integrated into at some level. Nostr is incredibly simple. This makes it versatile.

Though, I don't think I'd want to use the same set of keys for everything though. Some applications I'd want more privacy or want to use different identities and some applications I'd want to separate the flow or co-mingling of data.

Interesting thought. Especially about the potential of integration of Nostr into other every day apps.

To think out loud, about what I would want, would be a main set of keys; verified via NIP-05 or a better protocol back up on a hardware wallet and/or Yubikey; and from that set of keys the ability to generate a new npub & nsec that I could use on any other platform for any other reason.

That would essentially allow me to have multiple sets of keys all managed (and potentially verified) from the main npub and nsec.

Or maybe I've spent too much time here and my brain is turning into that of an Ostrich.

I was thinking about a similar concept this morning that could be done client side. @note1qhzzg9dwvjl2lp5pqxwfu4uckpfql8ccy8lqqzxksjlcn2gavp7s98g776

Here is the note since quote noting still largely broken

I had a thought, I don't know whether this is already a thing, but ... XPUBs...

If an identity was an XPUB, and messages can be written by a sub key that is hot, then you can use the XPUB to link different public keys to a single person and use each one for different things.

Eg. Key 2 can be used to receive bitcoin, while key 3 is used to sign software etc.

1 public identity, many keys that can be managed differently for different purposes.

This sounds kind of similar to NIP-26. It would allow for key delegation. You'd be able to use different keys for different apps all authorized by the main private key.

I'll give that one a read tonight. Thanks.

Welcome to where it's happening 💜⚒️

Hey buddy! Welcome 😉 Glad to see you around these parts.

Got my NIP-05 working... in this case, one of my favorite phrases really applies... "you gotta be smarter than the equipment you're working with!"

Haha! Welcome Joe!

Joe dirt?

LOL, nope!  But I do need a shower!

Narly dude,😁welcome

Welcome, to your new home on the Internet! 🤙💜

Need some sort of standardized key manager to app interface to easily switch keys?
