Very happy with it. After switching a while back, it was the first time in *years* that I felt confident I knew what my phone was doing: which apps were online, when, when the camera and sensors were active, which data was currently "encrypted at rest", etc. User profiles and being able to fully segregate workspaces for work, nyms, corn, etc., is a great feature that I use heavily.

I have strongly recommended it since switching, and will continue to.

I understand there are people who complain about the hardware being Google, but the alternative is just to go full in Google or Apple for everything.

So all good to use it as a daily driver without another android or iOS device?

Definitely. The only bug I ever run into is a very occasional random reboot, but I think I got those on previous devices from time to time as well. All the hardware (camera, radios, etc.) works flawlessly.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Ending the day with plenty of extra battery is nice. I do all the corporate socials in brave browser which prevents me from having to install any of their spyware at all.

Biggest complaints are lack of emojis on keyboard & autocorrect is annoying & can't be turned off. I'm not going back.

I use GBoard with all permissions denied. No internet, no storage, no sensors, etc.

Hmm... I guess that might be what I should do. I'm hesitant about the keyboard because that is a major security problem that potentially touches everything

Yeah me too, I just can't live without the swipe typing

What cellular service do you use?

I'm definitely interested but I need a cell phone to work. I tried a sats for cell minutes thing...and it was garbage. 3g at best if it worked at all.

I'm just using my regular previous cell service. Could be worth looking into what sort of coverage you get with Mint Mobile or Ting or something like that. I really like Ting as a company & service they just didn't have the coverage I needed in my area.
