Meanwhile in π¨π - it was so close, but it passed. Because e-ID is optional, people can opt-out, so that's what I'm doing.
The difference between this and the previous e-ID referendum in 2021 is that private companies would issue it on behalf of the fed. It was a massive privacy issue for most citizens so it didn't pass.
This time around, the fed will be issuing it exclusively and data will be stored in a decentralised way, meaning PI data will be stored in the phone.
Mind you, most Swiss still trust their government, that it still works for its citizens.

Unfortunately true. The neighbours always influence us.
You just have to hold out until the EU collapses. I think that will take about another five years
