I'm certainly a fan of revolvers, especially for hunting. For self defense situations though, I personally prefer a larger magazine and the ability to reload quickly.

9mm certainly isn't perfect, but it's widespread and cheap to shoot, which is great for training. There are certainly better handgun rounds, but they are expensive and don't have as much support from gun manufacturers.
