"Any pathway towards a more ethical world needs to involve equal footing. We cannot put the state on an elevated pedestal, period. We cannot put the state on an elevated pedestal as a premise to these debates. And so, once we take for granted that all parties are equal, then the question is, why should you get to have insight in my financial history? Why should I get to have insight in your financial history?"

Discussion

This brief snippet of audio brings up several main points of the bitcoin/monero conversation.

Clips like this unfortunately come off as clickbait, as the monero maximalists always defer to the easy "bitcoin is a surveillance coin" argument. Obviously, one of the easiest ways to get people to listen to a monero podcast is to trash bitcoin.

Advancing the conversation does not seem in the interest of either party, where people can be educated on the pros and cons of both currencies, and not focus on which one is "better."
