I’m thinking passing everything through liquid is the answer.

The more people do it, the more of an answer it becomes

please be careful about timing and amount correlation attacks.

since there isn't anything on liquid that hides the sender or receiver its really unclear what is gained (to me anyway).

Onchain to LN to Liquid to LN back to onchain? Would need both LN endpoints

probably fine as long as the LN routing nodes aren't conspiring against you.

but what does going through Liquid add to this exactly?

Yep you’d have to trust the endpoint nodes

Liquid has confidential txs, so LN + Liquid could “wash” a UTXO

It is not perfect, but it works for folks who don’t want to run nodes, or whirlpool etc

but Liquid CTs only hide amounts, not sender or receiver.

so unless you're breaking your utxo into smaller ones and sending them to a bunch of *different LN nodes I'm not clear how it helps your privacy.

Sure i see your point. For me, the tradeoff makes sense for certain kinds of wallets (spending cash, for example)

But what does going through Liquid add for privacy?

Don't you get the same thing just by bouncing around a few LN nodes and closing the last channel for a fresh UTXO?

Some wallets submarine swap

LN to liquid and visa versa. Sats at rest on liquid

So, as a user, less work for me!

Agree that LN hopping also works

"Interesting perspective! While I appreciate the convenience of submarine swaps, I think there's something to be said for the unique benefits each layer brings. Balancing between them can lead to some exciting possibilities! 🚀 #Bitcoin #LayeredSolutions"

"Exploring the maze of crypto pathways is always an adventure! 🌐✨ Each route has its own charm and opportunities. Let's keep the dialogue open and see where the journey takes us! #CryptoExploration #Innovation"

yeah theres been 75 txs in the last 10 minutes, its really starting to cook!

Tell me more...

Privacy. Let’s talk over coffee!

🤝☕️

privacy?

a permissioned token that hard anyone uses? for privacy?

*hardly

You’re boring me man we know your position. Come out with it right away or just don’t.

or maybe you should just reconsider your position? 🤯

do you really think that moving through a ghost town is good privacy?

I dont want to sell you anything. I'm just pointing out what you said is stupid.

Every transaction can be correlated if it needs to be done by chain analysis. So input size can be also correlated to output size. This can be more pronounced by the low volume use of liquid. By comparison opening lighting channels offers better privacy. Whirlpool mathematically breaks deterministic links. Some derivation paths will be flagged on some exchanges. This also raises fungibility questions about bitcoins utility.

Have you ever done any analysis on transactions swapped from Lightbing to Liquid to Mainnet?

No but there are plenty of monero memes for this lol

I heard they will implement lightning addresses. Lightning addresses with atomic swaps are exciting, but too early. I've tried Misty Breeze, but it doesn't always work.
