Eventually, we’ll need a new curve for nostr. Something that supports Schorr signature schemes.
Lately I’ve been thinking everyone should have trusted encryption libraries backed up on a thumb drive.
I am intrigued that someone/some agency might know of a secret theorem that yields backdoors on all the curves.
The philosopher’s stone. Imagine the kind of power you’d have if nothing was encrypted to you. Terrifying.
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist. I’ve heard some OG cryptographers talk about this, but I am keeping my ears, eyes, and mind open. There are more mundane compromises to deal with, like the mobile OS platforms enabling root access. The imperative in my mind is to build capabilities independent of the phone.
Yes! I agree wholeheartedly. The spectre of the nuclear option is a distraction from the subtle wars waged via thin vectors.
