Looking for some nostrich wisdom. I am going to retire my laptop, 7 years of good service already, I am deciding on which one to buy, I have in mind brands like tuxedo, dell, lenovo, slimbook. Preferably linux laptops with coreboot. System76 is a bit out of my reach as I live in europe. Do you have any recommendations? #asknostr

I nabbed a used thinkpad and am loving it. Just my 2sats.
Although I haven't made the transplant yet, I bought a Macbook Air with the idea that I'd use it to run Linux. Why?
It has great HW specs and NO FANS...
Linux support for the box is coming along...
the only thing about apple that doesn't stink like a bucket of rotting apples
IF they "permit" you to make such a modification, and pretty sure they have pushed back hard against people running linux, but linux user base > apple user base so they had to submit
Yes, I was thinking about this, nostr:npub1wf4pufsucer5va8g9p0rj5dnhvfeh6d8w0g6eayaep5dhps6rsgs43dgh9 was telling me about the benefits of this, but I hate apple, and this hatred extends beyond any value proposition, and I think Asahi's compatibility and support is not mature enough, even though I love the project. I prefer to support smaller brands like tuxedo or slimbook, also it would be great to have coreboot
