It looks solid. Mullvad partnered with them earlier this year. However, I'm always hesitant on privacy/security focused apps that haven't gone through an independent 3rd party audit—no independent audit for Obscura VPN yet, they said back in March they were "commissioning a security audit" but nothing's been published since the service launched in Feb 2025 (Mullvad's audits are separate), so I say, if you're going to use it, use with optimistic caution.

Mistakes happen, but third party security audits are essential in this area, especially with the advent of vibe coding. Even the best developers usually don't have the skills to properly audit their own creations.
