It's not even Gnostic! It's certainly BS, unless by "All..", he meant "None of the...".

How is it not gnostic?
I don't see how it fits into Gnosticism at all. Maybe tell me where you see a connection?
Gnostics believe occulted knowledge, yes? The means to acquire that knowledge are various.
Once you step down that route, you walk into a world of many paths.
God has laid out one path for salvation. Anything else is one of the paths that leads to destruction.
I get that you think that the Bible is false, but, I don't. I've found it to be the most clear representation of what has been and what will be. I also suspect that, in an odd twist, you and I would agree on more stuff than you might suspect.
Oh, heck, I don't really know where I'm going with this.
Lol. We do seem to agree on a great deal, which I enjoy.
The basis of Gnosticism is wisdom. Obtaining wisdom requires gathering knowledge, so studying anything and everything is on the menu. This does not mean to "take part in and become a follower" of everything.
I don't see education as something that can ever deter my faith. I have enough evidence from personal experience to know there is something beyond me, and that I am a part of it eternally. However, learning does increase my resolution of perceived reality. Giving me a "better view" of it than I would have without.
