Jerome Powell: "We're now collecting a good bit of revenue, 3 or 400 billion dollars a year pace [from tariffs]."

"Who's paying that? So far, it looks like it's the middle group, retailers and importers, they're not passing along to consumers that much of the cost."

"The actual impacts on inflation have been quite modest so far. It's a small amount."

So Americans. Americans are paying for the tariffs

Not what the PPI says. He’s lying.

I am sorry that you’re surprised.

Lol. So the carrot was right or you got bullied into saying it, on top of being the head of a patently evil institution.

Either way, ya gots ta go.

🌝

He’s lying. I work for a major steel company and we’re paying the tariffs on all the imports used to build this place.

Aren’t you in that “middle group” he’s talking about

Ah the middle group. To early to say how it affects downstream customers. Let’s reassess in 12 months.

You could look at the retail price you are charging the customer

The producers price index says he’s lying through his teeth.

Everyone: “Lies! I’m paying that cost.”

I see tariff listed directly as a line item from suppliers daily. I’ll tell ya right now that number is definitely being pushed to consumer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

100% I just paid it.

🤦🏼‍♂️

A lot would likely be mitigated by brand/product substitution

Instead, they are offsetting it by firing employees.
