When I moved to the Holler Homestead, it the woods behind us was an old cabin with hand-hewn logs. ? Chestnut?? oak?? no idea. It had been constructed most likely in the 1880-1910 time frame.

I've been here 18 years and watched that cabin slowly fall.

The chimney, however, remains strong. some of the mortar is still looking decent.

If I owned this land, I would clear out the house and find out what it takes to adapt this into a fire gathering area.

Imagine a 1 mile hike through the woods at night to gather around this piece with your friends!

ok, good morning, #coffeechain.

Enjoying coffee while I set priorities for #selfishsunday

#my3things

1) something for me (pilates, a bath, read fiction for an hour)

2) operation purge the bedroom for 1 hour (getting rid of clothes that don't fit me and deep cleaning

3) operation tax prep for 1 hour

I have lots of outside homestead things to do as well but want to keep the ball rolling on the foundational projects.

I always like to think of the memories that old places have. How many people were warmed by its fire?

GM and make it a great day!
