V4V is just one model of monetization. I'm interested in the freedom aspect of it. Freedom for the podcaster because they are in control of their content and truly own it and freedom for the listener to not have to jump through hoops to listen or having to skip BS ads.

You're correct that most people won't "pay" you but not everyone can. Maybe they share it with a friend and they send you money or someone listens for 8 years before starting a $10/month PayPal donation and after several years and other one time donations hits the $1000 mark to get a No Agenda Knighthood. (That was me 😁)

Also trying to monetize social media aka Nostr is never going to work imho.

Oh yeah for sure. He really didn't touch on the non monetary aspects (most people who don't like v4v only focus on the monetary i think).

These v4v "haters" are not wrong in a sense. They just i think don't understand how radical the model is.

The more v4v starts to slip towards "i make something you pay me" it really does get distorted and then people are upset when they look at their wallet.

So, in this sense, I empathize with them. They thought v4v would be a better PayPal and they were misled or misunderstood and now they feel hurt.

But this is why nostr:nprofile1qqszm7l9ew24usqckahx2s4rhpuzz3xatatnty2dhxfpl5jv8v73qmgppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0a8m5vw gets fiery when she sees the term being abused.

Were all just crazy and I just tell people to listen to BowlAfterBowl and Homegrown Hits because the medium is the message.

YES, you all know where I stand. 🤣 V4V is a lifestyle! It's collaborating with other artists, having someone to chat with at 1 A.M. when life gets rough, having a couch to crash on during road trips, enjoying artisanal small-batch food and drinks, and having FUN doing WHATEVER YOU WANT with likeminded individuals.

Also, wouldn't it be more accurate to say nostr:nprofile1qqsgs0l2fsr3lkjyqmftv6lzrjc7mt6950s9spgdvgq7euwnt94mcwgprpmhxue69uhhqun9d45h2mfwwpexjmtpdshxuet5qy08wue69uhhw6tvd3jk6tnrw4e8y7trv9ekstnwv46r5dpcxsuqz9nhwden5te0v96xcctn9ehx7um5wghxcctwvspktsq2 alongside JOHN C. DVORAK* coined value-for-value with the No Agenda podcast, which has been on since 2007?
