Guns are, in the hands of people, primarily a means of defence. Especially important when a government tries to seize a little too much power over the population, when someone invades your home, or when the failed state you live in goes out of its way to avoid protecting kids.

I agree that fetishizing guns isn't good, but being overly protective of those rights is understandable.
