Self hosted or through a service?

I'm running my own relay. But not sure how I make sure its actually used. Its in my list of relays.

Ah so the relay and NIP-05 are separate. For NIP-05 you need web hosting.

It can be as simple as hosting a static file at: https:///.well-known/nostr.json

The file contains your nostr name (Eg. Strit) and the hex version of your public key.

Here’s an example using your info:

{

"names": {

"strit": "c6c43235f48bddd7a4671f9de12267d07ae7f7ea5ba9386cb357e14e59ec5e8c"

}

}

Your NIP-05 address would be strit@

You can find more info here! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Thank you. Does it have to be on the same subdomain as the relay or can it be any domain I control?

Any domain. My relay is nostr.cr0.bar and I have my NIP-05 on cr0.bar, but it can be any domain. The main purpose is to make your npub more human readable, so for me you could search cr0bar@cr0.bar and it will find me. πŸ‘

Great. It seems to be working now.

Looking good! πŸ‘

Next adventure is getting lightning connected.

Do you mean running a lightning node or using lightning to take payments for your relay or…?

Just on a side note, I’d recommend having multiple relays set up. πŸ‘

Yeah, I added a few back to my list.

Feel free to add mine, see my bio πŸ‘

Did you use SNORT? There is a bug in the buying process.

https://nostr.strits.dk/.well-known/nostr.json doesn't exist or I can't view it. If I can't view it, then neither can Nostr clients. Do you have this file in place?
