What's the most telling about the FBI's announcement to use certain apps is that the announcement mentions "responsibly managed encryption".

This means they want a backdoor.

"Law enforcement supports strong, responsibly managed encryption. This encryption should be designed to protect people’s privacy and also managed so U.S. tech companies can provide readable content in response to a lawful court order."

Nostr can fix this with 0xChat and upcoming implementations of NIP-104 E2EE Messaging using the Messaging Layer Security (MLS) protocol.

i liked the concept of Simplex, but if im going to get people to think about public and private keys then im just going to have them use 0xChat and Nostr. i tired SimpleX. i really did. i just never use it with anyone.

I get that. SimpleX has been working great for me. I run it on Start9. To me there is too many kinds of dm's to even use. I still get nip4 all the time. I just don't respond.

I've heard VoIP is the new privacy hype. What about that phone service that Above Phone pushes, xmpp?? Satphones? Is there a more open source or secure version of Zello?
