Although I don't like Apple I must admit that banning damus is the policy of the Chinese government because for network security, not Apple rule
Banning apps is nothing new for Apple:
2014: removes #Bitcoin wallets globally
2017: removes VPN apps from China App Store
2023: bans nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 in China App Store then globally
