Banning apps is nothing new for Apple:

2014: removes #Bitcoin wallets globally

2017: removes VPN apps from China App Store

2023: bans nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 in China App Store then globally

Apple’s playbook is clear — they’re anti-freedom.

Make your voice heard & push back.

Just stop buying their products.

Or escape the walled garden altogether...

This. Give up on Apple. Ditch the slave tech. Use freedom tech.

The only pushback Apple understands against their wallet. Even then, Apple doesn't care. Look at Fortnite in 2020.

To be sincere, it doesn't suprise me from Apple.

Apple has welcomed millions into their walled garden ecosystem by luring them with flashy UX and product roll-outs. Within that ecosystem Apples acts like a dictatorial government - they make the rules, and every time there is a financial transaction they want a cut. Else you are banned.

Screw them, get CalyxOS or GrapheneOS.

They also killed Flash. Remember all the cool Flash animations and games on the web? They're all gone now because of Apple. If you give them your money, you deserve what you get.

Killing Flash was the best move ever. Flash was a security nightmare and a crappy system overall. Remember Flash on Linux?

That's true, but it's not Apple's call. They didn't just remove it by default, they made it impossible to use on iPhone.

Ya apples just about maxxxed out there company life cycle if you think about it.

Do not let your family or friends buy another IPhone! Don´t!

Although I don't like Apple I must admit that banning damus is the policy of the Chinese government because for network security, not Apple rule

Remember when Apple casually disabled AirDrop in China because Hong Kong protestors used it?

Any company that is effectively under the thumb of the CCP is not to be trusted.

And they are, because they require China for manufacturing *and* China is their second biggest market.
