A little update on the state of my hand. Unfortunately the swelling has got very bad and I have just returned from hospital. I have been given injections and tablets, hopefully it will only get better. Thanks for the words of encouragement and support and for the jokes ๐๐ซ๐

Oh no! If you have fresh ginger, grate it and place it in your have directly. It can bring down swelling like this faster. Good luck ๐

This looks very dangerous, sorry to say. My wife had a tiny cut in the palm of her hand when peeling an apple, and it got swollen like yours, she was directed to emergency dept of the hospital , the immediatly operated (cut open 2 inches in zig zag pattern), she ended up staying in hospital bed for 3 days! Watch out. I think it was called cangrene.

I'm keeping an eye on my hand, so far it's not getting worse, but I'll go to the hospital again if anything happens.
Yes, it ended well, luckily. But doctors said if she had waited a few hours more.....

Go back to the hospital immediately and demand antibiotics! I had this 7 years ago as well, and all my blood values were in the red. I was hospitalized for 9 days, my kidneys were affected, and I had blood poisoning. According to the doctors, I was very lucky. I also endured excruciating pain.
Oh my... looks pretty similar, was it because of a wasp/bee?
I also developed necrosis on part of my hand in the end. Fortunately, it healed well. I was left with a scar. According to the doctors, I had a streptococcal infection. Very dangerous!
Sounds terrible, but I have a classic case of allergy to wasp venom, confirmed by allergy tests. I should have gone to hospital straight away after the bite, but noooo.... And unfortunately the venom was released gradually over several hours, because a piece of the stinger remained in the skin.
