Because then we would have to back an additional 12 words. This way he can just derive this seed from the parent seed

I like having a master Coldcard generate all my hot wallet seeds. Way less to keep track of. If I delete the app, just go to my Coldcard and ask what the seed got account #x was. If I break my Coldcard, my Coldcard seed still has everything I need.
