If your trying to make a point in an internet discussion, dropping a link to a YouTube video without further explanation instantly kills the discussion. No one realistically has time to go watch a video, analyze its points, and formulate a response. We have lives and responsibilities.

Exactly. I never click on a link if there is no context.

I actually didn't realize there were long form posts originally. I would see a post with what looked like a bolded title, but with no description. I didn't even know it was something to click on. Now I know, but still am less likely to click if there isn't some kind of info to go with it.

I'll admit, I tend to post my substack articles using highlighter because I can post my formatted text into it without having to reformat the whole article again, but I miss Habla, because it let me add a little summary info to help people know if they wanted to read my long form note.

I'll take link dropping over a screenshot any day.
