Looks fun, but seems very intense. 120gb+ downloading very slowly.

damn that's a huge game.

Yeah, games became insanely large. It could also be a PlayStation thing, because all games are more than 50gb now. Unless they are really short.

LLM systems probably will put an end to the giant downloads, first by using LLM generation for textures and then eventually to models and movement

That would be an interesting game.

Especially if not everyone had the same experience.

yeah, i can imagine it will be a boon for story-rich games too - to be able to instead of manually writing a dozen or a tree of story arcs, to just let the LLM spit out a few hundred alternatives and then encode the prompts to generate the story controller. and most likely, there will be ones that have less guard rails, games in the same sort of style as Valheim and Kingdom games where the landscape is randomly generated

i play the long dark also, and it has a nice story play mode but it has been a bit frustrating since finishing it, the cliffhanger of the last episode and then the studio switched to focusing on the survival mode. LLM driven plot and synthetic character performances would be amazing for making a hybrid adventure/crafter/builder style game, never the same game twice...

think of how crazy that is. you have to download a Blu-Ray DVD now. if you truly think about it, it's wild how far we've come with data transmission. downloading a 50+ GB game is seen as normal now. i remember when i purchased my first 1GB HDD.

Wild. Our phones do these numbers on a daily basis. 1gb of data every time I open nostr 😂

yeah, and vitor has done nothing about it despite constantly being reminded

I don't know how he gets past that without implementing an image proxy service. He doesn't want to add a centralization piece to the puzzle. Is there another option that I'm not considering?

Which is kind of bad 😂

Nostr apps suck down so much data. They're my #1 data hogs.
