Yep, it can use the phone's GPS. You can also set a static location in the node, or none at all.

Would I still be able to communicate with local nodes without setting a location? Sorry I am very new to this stuff. I gotta read up more! 😆
Oh yeah, everything works fine. I have a few nodes without location running. You can even tweak the location for "I'm in this city" or "I'm in this house" kind of precision.
