If their people applause it then who am I to complain. I am not applauding it. It's more like permission vs forgiveness. Given the majority in that country are relieved, I can at least forgive the state, at least more so than every other atrocity they perform.

Yes, I also saw some people cheering on the state. It was mostly the same people who were cheering on the strategic bitcoin reserve. While I agree with you, I can't help feeling happy for those in the country that may feel a bit relieved despite how naive that may be. Taking out his leader wasn't so bad IMO, but I can guarantee the power vacuum it created will result in much more state meddling which is going to be much worse from a precedent perspective. As if the economic hitman revelations weren't bad enough. This is getting normalized.

and I think similar things can be said about taking out any leader in the world. People will cheer for Trump being taken out and there will be people who will be better of. Same for any EU country...there will be people cheering and being better of.
generally I think it's a colonial mindset to think this only applies to countries like Venezuela (with which was meddled for way more than a decade.)
Especially the typical critical people need to stay with their principles and question things. "don't trust, verify" and such..

That’s not what’s I’m saying at all. I’m NOT happy about this and I don’t feel good that it happened. And I’m not saying it’s all magically resolved. I don’t want to see this happen. History shows US meddling only creates more problems down the road - Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Iraq. I’m not ignorant, nor naive. I’ve only heard a few accounts of actual Venezuelans expressing relief and I’m acknowledging their thoughts. I didn’t look at any smiling faces. And I’m not defending this act nor justifying it.
It remains to be seen if anyone actually benefits who is actually oppressed, but if they do, I’m glad they might have a chance to experience a better life, that is all. I am happy for the individual IF it works out for them - but I’m not saying it will with any certainty.
I have personally lived through a similar event and it benefited me significantly. I don’t say which exactly but it was also through foreign meddling and it actually turned out temporary better for me and my family. I’m not 5 🤣

For sure some people will be benefit from new rulers, just as some people had benefits from the current rulers. There is no doubt.
There can be nuance in all of this. It’s not all black and white good and evil. Sure, it may be spun whichever way is beneficial, I can’t control that.
