A relay? You could always run it on a start9 embassy;)
Would that be exposed to the internet via dns? I want our listeners to be able to connect
I thought they released clearnet support, but it's shared for later this year. That did, if you haven't checked out start9 you should.
Anyway, what's do you need help with? I'm probably going to spin a relay up for #[6] at thesurvivalpodcast.com , already been playing with one in my free time. Seems pretty straight forward.
I just want a relay on our domain, preferably paid, that I can play around with. I have some ideas for how to use the paid relay as a way to distribute premium/paid content rather than substack.
I'm really just struggling to find a walkthrough or guide to follow that explains how to do it on AWS. Since that is where I have the most experience. I don't really have time to learn a new "stack" these days π
Set up in Ubuntu Linux machine on AWS, and run the relay under docker.
I didn't read through this entire walkthrough yet but might want to start here
I'll take a stab at it and let you know. Are you looking to have it done and managed for you?
that guide ( https://andreneves.xyz/p/how-to-setup-a-paid-nostr-relay ) was pretty decent
few things to note
- the default postgres configuration requires 16GB of ram - I trimmed it WAY back so I could run it on a free tier aws machine.
- Apparently ZeBedee has some restrictions on what state / country you can live in - it denied me from FL so I used a VPN
- however - for a production API key - you need to provide ID - so you should check the legal restrictions for ZeBeDee
wss://relay.tnctec.com is up -- I will leave it a while -- you should be whitelisted
I'll check this out tomorrow. I'm on baby duty tonight
I hear that ... Just crawled back into bed myself ( 430 ) .. fingers crossed
