Be sure to check the history of when this was tried before (not a "federated" solution though). The Farm in Tennessee is still going using many of the same values and techniques espoused in the article, even beyond. But it did not turn out as they originally planned.

Neat! I would very like to visit this place. Too bad it's in western TN. It would make the trip out there, say for the annual festival a lot easier to bear if it were in the eastern part of the state.
