In Ayurveda, they say nightmares are the result of high vata (think like a windy day, lots of movement, active mind...).

Introducing a grounding evening routine can calm the vata and promote sound sleep.

Here's some things one could do 10 minutes before bed that could help;

1. Foot massage with coconut oil

2. Alternate nostril breathing (Nadi shodhana pranayama - I have a video of this on my YouTube channel @yogawithlois)

3. Closing your eyes and reviewing everything you did during the day, tell yourself it's time to release unfinished business, think about what went right during the day. Smile with gratitude and setting the intention for a good night sleep and a tomorrow full of delightful surprises.

Avoiding eating 3 hours before bed is also helpful. As is keeping the evening meal light and not too spicy.
