In all seriousness, it's important that you do some basic training with anyone living in your house. If shit gets crazy, whether it's a simple home invasion or something worse, you want to have a preset plan and know how to work together.

Maybe the plan is, "Kids, go hid in the closet in your bedroom. Don't come out until I come get you." Maybe the plan is, "Babe, guard the bedroom door and do not leave while I clear the house." Maybe everyone has a bug out bag with some basic essentials and a pre-defined meeting spot if things collapse quickly. It doesn't have to be a perfect plan, but a plan is better than no plan.

"Fail to plan, plan to fail". You can't afford to fail when your life is on the line.
