An inherent problem with taking the globe model as fact, is you need to maintain ridiculous levels of cognitive dissonance.

A perfect globe would have 24 equal time zones. People will will provide any reason why there are 30-some time zones in the northern hemisphere, and 20-some in the southern.

I trust more people will figure it out over time, at which point you will wonder how and why it took you so long.
