Do we really think the government wonāt be able to compromise the people who control this social media?
Yes? Run your own relay if you think the other 1,000 relays are compromised.
So there is no way to censor this platform?
Someone could censor you but then you would just use a different client or a different relay or run your own client and relay. It would become a temporary game of whack-a-mole.
Is there some sort of cheat sheet showing us how to do all this?
Several guides exist. If you just want a backup you can use Umbrel or Citrine. If you want a publicly accessible relay that you run on a server computer you can use this old guide and install Nostream. This is the relay I've been using since December 2022.

How do we know we arenāt being censored right now via throttling?
Views are an addictive metric that aren't needed in real life. It's a dopamine hit that doesn't help you to be more social. You can view which relays host your content or you can host it on your own relay as well.
Great point. How do we host our own rely? What happens when the FBI shows up asking why we arenāt censoring people for them?
There's many ways to run your own. You can also make your relay only writable by you. You won't censor yourself š„¹ running a relay all depends on what your goal is and what you're trying to accomplish. Is it just for backup purposes or are you trying to have it accessible by the world as well? I do both running nostream, but different options exist.
