Corporations, or really the people behind the corporations, are just as much at fault with how much money they printed through debt financing, stock options etc. Paying themselves with printed stock like nobody would catch on. It’s all burning now though :)
They don't need to institute price controls; most food commodities are already returning to pre-pandemic levels; the federal reserve has hoovered up the excess monetary supply. This is purely political theatre that will do nothing but generate political brownie points and create justification for further retrogressive economic policies.
The vast majority of price increases in consumer goods is related to increased wages at the bottom. When Harris starts talking about increasing the federal minimum wage, then it's time to start really worrying about neoliberals shedding their skin and revealing their true colors.
She must really have it in for whoever has been in power the last few years. How can anyone take her seriously? What has she done when she had some power? Why does she have to wait til next time?
