The first public beta of umbrelOS 1.2 is now out with Wi-Fi support, plus NVMe and USB boot support for Raspberry Pi 5.

To update your Umbrel, go to Settings > Advanced settings, and enroll into the umbrelOS Beta Program.

That’s awesome! I can free an Ethernet port.

Can you please take a look at the 1.1.2 iso on GitHub. There is an issue with it, it keeps failing with Balena.

It was simple to boot from my NVMe, the OS is beautiful. However, the active fan isn't working, so the system shuts down at 85°C/185°F ish. My raspberry pi 5 is brand new (Geeek), my SSD m.2 is also a brand new Samsung 990 Pro 4TB. Anyone else reporting this issue? Should I just order a new active fan?
