I can imagine that happening after we conceive a way to have public domain cell phone towers, affordable quality crowd-funded cell phones with open source software and almost-free internet for everyone, everywhere, while competing with for profit corporations at a high level.

It lowers the influence of corporations via transparency and accountability.

That level of freedom requires leaders and influencers to be responsible or they become a new, equally bad if not worst problem.
