You mind find content that is more to your liking by searching hashtags of your interests, then following people that post with those tags.

Look through the list of people they follow, and you'll find some more people with that same interest.

For a while, it's best to add everyone you encounter, then prune back if you find your feed to be less-than-enjoyable.
