Vegetable starts are transplanted to the garden beds

Got cabbage, broccoli, cucumber, eggplant, tomato, peppers for now. Looking forward to lots of sauerkraut, pickles, and ferments. And most of all, fresh salsa!

Tomato trellis and cabbage net installed in the garden

Finally found some time to give the garden some attention. The tomatoes were growing all over the ground and the cabbage were getting eaten up by cabbage moths.

I built some tomato trellis with big sticks from the sugar bush, some wire, and hay string. I don't know if it's going to last the whole season but for now it looks cool.

Used some leftover conduit from another project to bend frames to secure the cabbage net. We have done something different every year to support the nets with varying results. This season I decided to make something I can reuse every year.

Rope trellis just in case!
