its good but too many people using WoS starts to create a centralized choke point; more people need to run their own LN Nodes and/or use other wallets.

I do not have zaps enabled, but you should be able to send to my lightning address, is that also failing? me@lnaddy.com - please do let me know so i can fix it

yes, trying to zap you 18 failed in Amethyst, returned an error string of "failed in fetching invoice from ..."

Just kidding. Its because my lightning address currently does not support Zaps. I know, I know. Working on it. Anyway regular lightning address sends should work fine, last checked.

OK, so it has something to do with the lately upgrade of amethyst. I remembered that it has no such requirement in old days when working with address in the profile.

Correct.

This is caused by the confusion spread by some who call every LN tip now a "zap".

Or others who say "just get a LN address so I can zap you".

Don't know if they're not aware of the difference, or if they're half-lying to spread zap adoption, but the effects are the same.

Zaps and sending to LN Address are different.

The app should gracefully fallback on normal LN tips if the receiver doesn't support zaps.
