The ILA ended up getting 62% from the US Maritime Alliance. I don't really care where you stand on Unions, but this was akin to negotiating with terrorists. They threatened to choke off the American people and got paid off for their threats.

Automate the whole fucking thing.

What was the salary of the average person on the strike line? (Not average of the entire force)

All for one and one for all.

There was chart that showed their salary bands over on the twatter but I can't seem to come across it. It did look like your traditional bell curve with most being in that $150k band. If I come across it again, I'll toss it in here.

They’re Luddites and the head of the union is a millionaire. I feel so bad for them.

They will. People are replaceable in nearly every industry.

Saw a report from last night and apparently in the negotiations they want guarantees of no automation to boot. They pointed to the nearly autonomous Long Beach port as one of the strike reasons.

I would too if my job could be replaced by a machine. Port operators need to automate anyway. The salary increases will work like tariffs. It’s a good thing.
