Hey friend, how does this lead to WW3? It hasn’t happened so far over the last three years what makes now more dangerous than before?

I feel if the world lets Russia get away with this ww3 is more likely to happen than not. China will definitely make a move Taiwan and could see NK make a move on SK..

My friend,

Do I understand that your belief is there are more options than WWIII or negotiated peace? I would be interested in understanding what you think those options there are. I can think of two other options that I don't believe to be likely outcomes 1) sustained and perpetual violence along the Ukrainian/Russian boarder or 2) a victory of one side over the the other.

If negotiated peace is not to be considered a likely outcome, then escalated violence to secure a victory remains the only likely solution to my way of understanding. That is what I call WWIII. The grind of perpetual violence is no substitute for victory in the rhetoric of powerful people, and they will not be stymied by dark beliefs of probable outcomes. Help me understand other ways to see this.

I think a protracted war of attrition is the more likely scenario. As long as Ukraine is given weapons they are willing to go toe to toe with Russia. I don’t see why things have to escalate to a WW3 scenario to be honest.

The Taliban held out against the US for 20 years and ended up leaving. Who is to say Ukraine couldn’t wage a low intensity insurgency to drain Russia dry…

All Ukraine has to do is not lose. Russia can’t sustain this tempo forever. Look at its economy and how much it spends on defense. They need a ceasefire more than Ukraine.

I don’t believe the conditions under which Ukraine could be perpetually sustained as a war fighting entity exist, which make endless war a less likely that other outcomes. Rome held out longer than the Taliban as the masters of their fate, but eventually things changed.

Crazier things have happened… I think their desire to not be taken over by Russia is pretty high. Obviously they are willing to die to stay free…

There are few things in the world that I believe are true, but one thing I will never doubt, that is the people running the government will not hesitate to grind us all into gore in their bloody battlefield and lie to us about the nobility of their intentions. Liberty is always what the authority says it is. Freedom is choosing to believe it or not.

I agree with you on that
