Brother, that's an easy one...πŸ˜ƒ Hang with me through some step by step logic so you'll understand my considered opinion:

"Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared. From this we know that it is the last hour."

- 1 John 2:1:8

On this, and many other topics, most Christians have been confused by bad English translations of the Bible. In fact, many Bible words are not even *translated*; they are Greek words with English spellings.

"Christ" is a Greek word that means "Annointed One." In Scripture, the annointed were Prophets, Priests, and Kings, and Jesus is all three.

In English, the prefix "anti" primarily means "against," but not so in Greek. "Anti" in Greek means "in place of" or "substitute."

In the beginning (Genesis 1) God gave man dominion over all the creatures, NOT over his fellow man. When the elders demanded of Samuel (1 Samuel 8) β€œNow appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations,” God told Samuel "They have rejected Me from being king over them."

There is ONE and ONLY ONE human with an inherent right to rule other humans, and his name is Jesus. He has that right because he CREATED us. Paul says Jesus is "the blessed and ONLY Sovereign" (1 Timothy 1:15).

Put it all together, and the conclusion I come to is that ANYONE but Jesus who claims a right to rule me is quite literally "anti-christ," or a "substitute king." Thus, Donald Trump clearly qualifies as one of the many antichrists John spoke of, along with every other self-styled ruler.

When the first Christians proclaimed "Jesus is Lord," they were making the very political statement that "Caesar is NOT." Christians today need yo return to the same strongly held conviction.

What do you think?πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ˜β”

Is Donald Trump the Antichrist?πŸ€”

What's your opinion?🧐

Here's the answer I offered a friend just yesterday...πŸ˜‡

In this last election cycle, I often found myself recalling that passage from 1 Samuel as I watched folks who otherwise claimed a disdain for government expressing support for Trump. The allure of empire is just as strong now as it was then.

Sadly, all too true...😒

The lust for power is overwhelming in far too many otherwise apparently intelligent and rational people...

I continually struggle, attempting to refine my ability to communicate these truths, even to well meaning fellow Christians; folks who, like everyone, all our lives have been immersed in statist propaganda...

I appreciate your attempts. I’ve mostly been contemplating in silence because I rarely meet folks who are willing or able to engage in productive conversation. Or perhaps I’m still too unskilled to communicate effectively. I look forward to taking a closer look at your work.

Solid biblical answer. I’d add the passage from 1 John 2:18, which refers to β€œmany antichrists,” Bunyan would emphasize that the Antichrist manifests in all who take the place of Christ, usurping His sovereign rule. It isn’t merely about individual rulers or kings but about any system or authority. Whether religious, political, or social that seeks to take the place of Christ in governing lives.
