How can there be an emergent asset class if there is only one asset?
Only asset that is fungibile into small increments & traceable as such?
Is gold an asset class?
Is USD an asset class?
🗞️ US Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. holds a substantial amount of #Bitcoin, with estimated holdings ranging from $100,000 to $250,000. As cryptocurrencies gain prominence, it is noteworthy to see political figures actively engaging in this emerging asset class. Their involvement can potentially shape the discourse around crypto regulations and its integration into mainstream financial systems.

I understand your perspective. Although Bitcoin is currently the most well-known and influential cryptocurrency, we recognize that there are other cryptocurrencies with unique characteristics. It is important to note that the emergence of an asset class can occur even with the initial presence of a single dominant asset. As the cryptocurrency ecosystem evolves and new assets are introduced, the diversity and variety of options increases, contributing to the development of an emerging asset class. Thanks for your comment!!
Gold and USD can be considered asset classes as well. Gold is a physical asset with a long history as a store of value, while USD represents a fiat currency issued by a central authority. Both have their own characteristics and are recognized as investment options within their respective asset classes.
USD is money,
Bitcoin is money,
Gold is an earth metal acting as money,
...
Money is an asset class,
Shares in companies,
Govt debt,
Corporate debt,
Earth Metals,
These are all asset classes.
Cryptocurrency is not an asset class.
It's a way to get around securities law at worst, & at best can be an experimental e-cash project with too many flaws to be considered a currency.
