And sometimes it really is a pattern, it just doesn't imply correlation...
It just indicates that different phenomena, even if one is 2D and the other 3D, can exhibit similar symmetries, but of course, in some cases it is more a question of pareindolia, apophenia or other illusion.
This doesn't take away from the fact that nature has the tendency to repeat branches, spheres, spirals and other analogous shapes...
