Use Brave browser. Can play vids in background and download and save videos to the brave playlist to watch offline.

You can use it add free in the Opera crypto browser with a VPN. Not logging in will make remembering all your preferred content necessary. 😁

I believe the parent company is Scandinavian, Norwegian if memory serves, but perhaps. It’s kind of a pick your spies scenario, Tor browser probably is the best of the bunch, but performance requires security trade-offs.
