I use an Intel nuc10 i7 running Ubuntu server with a “future proofing” of 32gb of ram, 1tb ssd, and 4tb nvme connected to a UPS. I made the 1tb sdd raid1 with a lvm of the nvme to ensure some better resilience. The amount of ram and storage was overkill but I’m certain it will last the next 7+ years without concern.

raid setup is a total fail bro. no question.

never mix drives ESP if one is sata vs card. that lvm may pull the bandwidth to the lowest common denominator

since you cant mirror the card drive, your only suitable option is to run backups on the ssd instead, and use it as a cache

You’re right, but it’s not an issue for the task — I’d rather just have the resilience and small form factor. So far, performance is perfectly fine. Cheers!
