I've recently started visiting sauna too. I never attended the whole thing as a ritual for several hours, only as a quick bake after sport.

It's bloody fantastic. Freezing in the pool is fantastic. Wobbly walk home is fantastic too.

The place we went today had a person who would put ice with essential oils on the rocks and wave a fan or towel

To get the hot air moving. It was epic almost a show with music and the entire sauna clapping and cheering during the hottest part. Such a cool

Nice! I didn't attend any of the rituals yet, since it happens in later hours when I have to tend to my kids already. But I benefit from saunas being mostly completely empty, that is great too.
