If dollars are printed out of thin air does that make the energy I spend earning them the only thing giving them value? Seems like a messed up system.

Yes it’s a messed up system. Have you read the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island”? It’s long but was fundamental for my understanding of the Federal Reserve and how the central banks created money from thin air.
Not yet. I have a long list of books I’d like to read but don’t make time for. I think I get the jist of it though. Did this Jekyll Island meeting happen before or after all meaningful opposition to the fed was lost in a boating accident?
